What belongs to Christmas like the Easter Bunny to Easter?
That's right, Christ-Stollen!
The most wonderful time of the year has officially begun, which of course means busy Christmas baking alongside evergreens of Christmas songs.
Trust me when I say this cake is easy peasy lemon squeezy (pun intended). It's the best lemon cake you'll ever bake. It’s whipped up in no time and only uses simple ingredients.
Is there anything better than marble cake? Honestly, I don't think so. It's such a simple yet sooooo delicious and beautiful cake, you just gotta love it.
Still looking for a quick, easy and delicious dessert for the holidays? Then we have the perfect solution for you.
Another christmas cookie that I used to loooovee when I was a kid were these coconut macaroons that look a little bit like tiny snowflakes. Hence the name we gave to them: Snoflake cookies.
Back at home when I was little we always had this 'St. Nicholas bread' on the 6th of December. My mom used to bake it the night before the 6th and the whole apartment would smell soooo good. I still bake this sweet brioche bread every year on this day as it makes me feel home and it's just super delicious.
Spekulatius biscuits have always been my favourite Christmas cookies since I was a child. I always liked the beautiful patterns and decorations they had and the fact that they were so crisp and thin.
The most wonderful time of the year is just around the corner and we are really looking forward to it! Punch, candlelight, Mariah Carey and of course...Christmas biscuits!
After the Schlutzer recipe we now have once again veganised a typical dish from South Tyrol. They are called "Kastanienherzen" as they are made out of chestnut puree and molded into a heart-like shape. Back in South Tyrol it is a dessert that can be bought in most bakeries around this time of year. Also many people make them at home during fall.
Fluffy, buttery, caramelised, sprinkled with icing sugar and served with plum or cranberry jam. This sweet treat is an absoulte dream! The clever ones among you may already know what kind of treat I am referring to here... That's right, I'm describing the KAISERSCHMARRN experience as vividly as I can.
For those who find the length of the recipe a bit intimidating, I can only say: DARE! Nothing can go dramatically wrong and the end result is definitely worth the 23 hour wait, believe me. So get your sourdough ready and get going! Have fun with the recipe!
So this post is all about the sweet temptation in life…yes you got it I’m talking about dessert. When it comes to this topic, I (Marie) definitely have to out myself as a dessert nerd. Not so much in terms of eating desserts effectively, but more so in terms of preparing and trying out all kinds of new dessert creations in all kinds of different flavours and variations.
So let’s talk OREO COOKIES. For some of you probably the best (accidentally vegan) cookie out there. And you got a point. It’s such a simple cookie but yet so freaking delicious.
ICE CREAM SANDWICHES! Is there anything better than a cooling ice cream sandwich on a hot summer day? No? Well you're damn right and you should definitely make these super easy homemade ice cream sandwiches asap!
Beware of this beautiful and fudgy chocolate-pear-cake. It might seem like an unusual pairing to you, BUT those two ingredients go extremely well together, trust me. The tartness of the chocolate compliments the slightly sweet fruitiness of the pear in a way that you’ll demolish your slice in absolutely no time.
You’re a sweet tooth but want to cut down on refined sugar? We got you! These cookies are yummy, soft and full of melted chocolate glory! Trust me you wanna try these ASAP!
What a gorgeous and sweet treat these cinnamon rolls have been. So yummy, so fluffy and of course so cinnamony. Of course, we had the audacity to top these delicious rolls, a mouthwatering treat on their own, with some almond toffee ice-cream, caramel sauce, some toasted walnuts, and a dust of icing sugar. MIND-BLOWING.
Delicious sweet and fruity Christmas biscuits! I always made this cookies together with my mum back home and they still are one of my favorite christmas cookies to make.
